Liverpool boosted in pursuit of Stefan de Vrij
Liverpool and Manchester United have been given a boost in their aim to sign Stefan de Vrij from Lazio, according to a report on talkSPORT.
Inter Milan appear to be keeping their options open ahead of the summer transfer window and reports have indicated that they are not yet convinced by the proposition of recruiting De Vrij.
The defender’s contract expires this summer and will therefore be in a position to join any club that makes him an offer.
There is a high interest in the Lazio man and due to the nature of his situation, he is able to listen to offers for him ahead of making his final decision at the end of his contract.
A number of clubs have been following him around Europe, with Liverpool keen to add to their defensive depth following the arrival of Virgil van Dijk in January.
There had been some talk that Italian giants Inter had already completed the deal to sign him but uncertainty has emerged with regards to these reports.
Inter will surely need to act fast if they are to sign De Vrij given the sheer volume of interest that surrounds him at the moment.
Manchester United are also looking to sign De Vrij, meaning that a potential battle between Inter, United and Liverpool could well develop in the summer.
