Liverpool target Werner confirms wishes to stay at Leipzig

Long-term Liverpool target Timo Werner has outlined his intention to remain at RB Leipzig this summer.

The Mirror claim that German international, who has been linked with both Manchester United and Liverpool for some time, wants to stay with the Bundesliga outfit.

Next year, definitely, I will stay in Leipzig.

Werner, who has scored 17 times in all competitions this season, is highly thought of in Germany.

The striker has played a key role in Leipzig’s rise in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid known admirers of the player.

Leipzig are battling for a spot in next season’s Champions League with Werner’s side sixth in the Bundesliga, six points behind second-place Schalke.

Werner is under contract in Germany until 2022 and has previously expressed his desire to play in the Premier League.

The striker will be hoping to impress at the World Cup this summer where he is expected to lead the line for the German national team.
