Liverpool are interested in signing Timo Werner from RB Leipzig this summer, according to a report from German news outlet Bild.
The Reds have been in fine form in front of goal throughout the season but it seems Jurgen Klopp has set his sights on another striker, with Werner under consideration.
It’s claimed by Bild that the Liverpool manager has a “serious interest” in Werner and has been impressed with his progress at Leipzig in the last two seasons.
The young forward has quickly established himself as one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga, having led the line well for Leipzig in the recent two seasons.
Werner has reaffirmed his commitment to Leipzig since the turn of the year and has insisted that he will be with the club for the 2018/19 campaign. However, this does not appear to have deterred Liverpool in their pursuit of the striker.
German international Werner will hope to end the season strongly with Leipzig as speculation continues to surround his future with the club.
