Lazio defender and Liverpool target Stefan de Vrij has reportedly agreed terms to join Inter on a free transfer this summer.
Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that an agreement has been reached with the Serie A side despite interest from Barcelona, Manchester City and Liverpool in recent months.
Inter are believed to have offered the player a five-year deal at the San Siro, on a reported €4.2 million-a-year.
The 26-year-old had a number of potential suitors after impressing for Lazio, who themselves are hoping to finish in the Champions League places this season.
De Vrij is currently away with the Dutch national team for the international break and started during the Netherlands’ 1-0 defeat at home to England.
Inter will be hoping that de Vrij can slot straight into the defence alongside either Miranda or Milan Škriniar.
The latter has attracted interest from European clubs, so de Vrij could also be seen as a potential replacement should the Slovakian defender leave this summer.
