UPDATE: Jurgen Klopp spoke after the game and said it looks like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss the rest of the season and also said that he is highly unlikely to be fit for the World Cup.
Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was stretchered off in the first-half of his side’s Champions League encounter with Roma on Wednesday evening.
The England international sustained what appeared to be a knee injury and was unable to continue, which saw Liverpool replace him early on with Netherlands international Georginio Wijnaldum.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was on the field for roughly 15 minutes before he was deemed unable to continue, with the midfielder seen clutching his knee after a challenge early on in the match.

The ex-Arsenal man crunched into a challenge with Roma left-back Aleksandar Kolarov and came away with what appears to be a serious injury.
As of yet, the extent of Oxlade-Chamberlain’s knee issue is unknown but Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to have his summer signing fit and available for the run-in towards the end of the season.
Oxlade-Chamberlain will also hope that the injury is not too serious, with the 2018 World Cup closely following the season with Liverpool.
