Roma have been hit by injuries ahead of their second leg tie against Liverpool in the Champions League semi-finals next week.

Eusebio Di Francesco’s men will be hoping to do the unthinkable and overturn a 5-2 advantage for the Reds following their dominant display at Anfield on Tuesday.

However, it seems he may be forced to orchestrate this mammoth task without key duo Diego Perotti and Kevin Strootman, as reported by Football Italia.

It’s claimed that the pair sustained minor injuries in the defeat on Merseyside, meaning that they will both miss Roma’s Serie A clash with Chievo Verona this weekend.

Perotti has reportedly picked up an ankle injury, which is feared to be a sprain. The attacker netted Roma’s second on Tuesday night with a well-taken penalty.

Strootman, on the other hand, is claimed to have sustained bruising on his ribcage following the game against the Reds, throwing his chances of playing in the reverse fixture into doubt.

Liverpool themselves are facing numerous injury problems but it seems Roma are also set to see their options limited for the clash on Wednesday.
