Liverpool in running for Valencia teenager
Liverpool have reportedly joined the race for Valencia’s teenage starlet Ferhat Cogalan.
The prospect is one of the jewels in the Spanish club’s academy and it is believed that Liverpool are ready to scoop the attacking midfielder.
The player has lucrative deals with brands such as Adidas already signed and this shows how fancied he may be.
But the Reds will have to fend off other competition, if they are to secure the phenom’s services.
According to Sport Witness, Catalan news outlet Sport say the French-born Turkish midfielder has attracted interest from other European giants.
The Catalan outlet says Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, and Real Madrid are in the race for Cogalan, and are said to have ‘knocked on the door’.
Barcelona have been in pursuit of the teenager for more than two years but Sport claims that Bayern are in the ‘driving seat’ ahead of Barcelona, having already made an offer for the midfielder.
But Valencia are determined to keep Cogalan in Spain and are aware of the growing interest from other clubs.
The Reds will have to assess the situation and may have to pull out all the cards to persuade the talented youngster to move to Merseyside.
