Steven Gerrard eyes loan move for Ben Woodburn
Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is hoping to sign Wales international Ben Woodburn in a move which would see the 18-year-old striker join Rangers on a season long loan, report The Express.
Gerrard’s close relationship with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will allow the newly named Rangers manager exclusive loan deals, symbiotically aiding the two teams.
Woodburn is one of Liverpool’s brightest young stars, but has been angling for a move recently, in search of first team football. With a talent stacked attack in Liverpool’s squad, the young Welshman has found it difficult to break into the team but Gerrard is keen to give Woodburn a taste of first team football and take him to the Ibrox.
Woodburn is Liverpool’s youngest ever goal scorer and has already, at the age of 18, achieved seven caps and scored once for Wales.
The Express also report that Gerrard has also targeted two other Anfield stars – Harry Wilson, who starred in the Hull City last season and winger Ryan Kent. The two are also very keen to get some first team football, so a loan move would be ideal for the pair too.
