Liverpool are ready to offer Pep Lijnders a swift return to Anfield just months after he left the club.
Goal reports that both Lijnders and Liverpool are keen to get a deal done that will see him re-join Jurgen Klopp’s coaching staff.
Lijnders left the club earlier this season to take over at Dutch side NEC Nijmegen but was sacked just months later.
During his time in charge, Lijnders was tasked with gaining promotion to the Eredivisie with NEC Nijmegen, but he was unable to do so.
Lijnders was spotted in Kiev on Saturday night watching the Champions League final and was seen speaking to club officials, increasing the speculation that he is on his way back to the club.
Klopp is known to be a huge admirer of the 35-year-old and he bemoaned his decision to leave the club earlier this season, citing the huge loss he would be to the club.
