Liverpool have reached a five-year deal with Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir, according to the Mirror.
Following reports late-Thursday that seemed to all-but confirm the Frenchman’s arrival on Merseyside, Friday morning has provided an altogether different story.
With rumours of a failed medical swirling, Lyon themselves took to Twitter to announce no transfer had been agreed for the transfer of their captain.

Despite this, the Mirror are now claiming that a five-year contract has in fact been signed by the World Cup-bound man, with the club set to unveil the signing on Friday afternoon.
A principle fee of £49 million is expected to rise to £53 million, and the 24-year-old will initially earn £140,000 per week at Anfield.
Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas announced Thursday that his star player wouldn’t be sold before or during the World Cup, adding another curious hook to this fascinating story.
As a publicly listed company however, Lyon are obliged to take all measures possible to protect their share prices.
Fekir would join incoming signings Naby Keita and Fabinho in a midfield three well-stocked for the 2018/19 season.
