Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze has refused to rule out a future reunion with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, the Mirror reports.
The Germany international has often been linked with a switch to Anfield but no move has ever materialised, despite Klopp’s evident interest in recruiting the playmaker.
Gotze, who spoke in a recent documentary dedicated to him by DAZN, admitted that he still regards linking up with Klopp in the future as ‘an option’.
I decided to leave Bayern and Jurgen Klopp was interested in getting me to Liverpool. And I was also interested in working with him again.
It’s still existing. He is a world-class coach and that’s why it’s always an option. I decided to join Borussia Dortmund, but it was not a decision against Liverpool or Jurgen Klopp. But on the contrary.

Liverpool are well-stocked with attacking options along with midfield reinforcements, with Nabil Fekir also likely to arrive at the club despite an ongoing transfer saga.
However, it seems Gotze has not yet given up hope of one day playing under Klopp again, with his time at Dortmund potentially coming to an end.
Gotze, who formerly played for Bayern Munich, has struggled to rekindle his form during his younger days after encountering a number of metabolism issues, hindering his ability to play regular football at a high level.
A move to Liverpool in the future could yet be on the cards, though, with a clear mutual appreciation between the player and Klopp.
