Fenerbahce are keen to swoop for Liverpool assistant manager Zeljko Buvac, according to claims from Turkey.
The Super Lig giants are said to be assessing their options as they look to appoint a new first-team manager and as per a report from Sporx, Buvac has emerged as a front-runner.
Damien Comolli, who has previous experience of working at Liverpool, was recently appointed as Fenerbahce’s new sporting director and it’s claimed that an agreement has been reached with Buvac over the management role at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.
Buvac was absent from Liverpool’s final stretch of fixtures near the end of last season, casting doubt over his long-term future at Anfield.
The Reds’ assistant has worked alongside Jurgen Klopp for many years now but it seems the pair’s working relationship will come to an end, with Buvac lined up to take over at Fenerbahce.
Aykut Kocaman has clearly failed to convince at Fenerbahce and Buvac’s arrival in Turkey seems to be imminent if Sporx are to be believed.
