Hoping he’ll follow in the footsteps of fellow front-line assassins Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, Liverpool are negotiating the extension of Sadio Mane’s contract.
The winger signed from Southampton in 2016 for a fee of £34 million, and immediately made his impact felt on Merseyside.
73 appearances in two seasons has seen the Senegalese international hit the back of the net on 33 occasions, including a memorable hat-trick against Porto in the Champions League and a goal in the final against Real Madrid.

Despite three years remaining on his current contract, the Reds are eager to tie down Mane for the long-term future, as they have done with Salah and Firmino.
With the pair committed to Liverpool through the 2023 season, it is reported by the Telegraph that securing a similar deal for Mane will be a simple formality.
Manager Jürgen Klopp spoke of his delight at seeing his stars extend their contracts at the club:
That’s how it is and a good sign for the club. It is an improved situation that these players don’t use us and then go. It’s cool but now we all together have to deliver. Sign your contracts but now, go again.
