Liverpool fans react to referee appointments for Leicester clash

A number of Liverpool supporters are rather unhappy with the refereeing appointments for the Reds’ weekend Premier League clash with Leicester City.

The champions head to the King Power Stadium on Saturday lunchtime in what could be a very tough game. Leicester currently sit in third place in the table, one position and three points ahead of Liverpool.

The Reds’ demoralising 4-1 defeat at home to Manchester City last weekend has probably ended their title hopes, so the main focus now is on ensuring that a top-four finish is achieved.

It has been confirmed that Anthony Taylor will take charge of Saturday’s game, as Jurgen Klopp comes up against former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

Meanwhile, Stuart Attwell is in the dreaded VAR chair – controversy will hopefully be avoided at the King Power.

Taylor was the referee who failed to send off Vincent Kompany for a wild lunge on Mohamed Salah when Manchester City beat the Reds 2-1 in January 2019, while Attwell was the man in the middle for the controversial 1-1 draw at Brighton earlier this season.

These Liverpool fans have been providing their reactions to Taylor and Attwell’s appointments on Twitter, with negativity the general order of the day.
