Virals: Neil Jones confirms double Liverpool departure

Liverpool look to be setting the transfer wheels in motion once again as reliable journalist Neil Jones has confirmed two departures from the squad.

The Reds are expected to make sweeping changes to their ranks this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to refresh the options at his disposal for next season.

However, any incomings must first be caveated by the permanent sales of fringe players and that process may finally be building up some momentum.

Jones has taken to Twitter to confirm that both Marko Grujic and Taiwo Awoniyi are set to complete transfers away from the club.

Both players have been perennial loanees and will return to former temporary employers -no doubt thankful for the opportunity to ply their trades elsewhere on a permanent basis.

Awoniyi returned to train with Liverpool over the last fortnight for the first time since obtaining a work permit, whilst Grujic spent last season on loan at FC Porto and was considered a top target in Portugal.

Let’s all hope this is the start of a mini-clearout.

Raising £17milion from two players very much on the outskirts of Klopp’s plans is a huge boost to the coffers and could potentially see the Reds do some business in the market.

Realistically more will be required to land the calibre of target necessary and that could come from the sales of the likes of Harry Wilson, Neco Williams and Loris Karius.
