Virals: Liverpool ready to ‘reignite’ interest in Renato Sanches

Liverpool are reportedly ready to ‘reignite’ their interest in Lille midfielder Renato Sanches

The Reds were extensively linked with a move for the 24-year-old during the summer as Jurgen Klopp eyed a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum.

However, that move failed to materialise as the German manager appeared to place trust in those midfielders already in situ at Anfield.

According to a report from Italian outlet CalcioMercarto, as cited by Liverpool FC News on Twitter, Liverpool remain keen on the Portuguese ace.

The report claims that AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are also interested in the 32-cap star.

Sanches has recently returned from a knee injury suffered having made an impressive start to the 2021/22 Ligue 1 campaign.

Described as ‘incredible’ by former Everton striker Kevin Campbell the combative midfielder has already enjoyed a stellar career to date.

Midfield is one area that has to be under serious consideration in January.

Despite boasting a wealth of options in the department, regular injuries to the likes of Naby Keita, Thiago and Curtis Jones have left Klopp bereft all too often this term.

Albeit Sanches possesses a worrying injury record of his own, should assurances be made over his fitness there is a genuinely top-class player to be had.

Valued at £27million and under contract in France until 2023 (Transfermarkt), it would appear a move is getting ever closer.
