Liverpool full back Alberto Moreno will miss the Merseyside Derby on Sunday, and may well be out until the New Year if scans reveal he has suffered ankle tendon damage, the Times report.
The Reds enjoyed a near perfect evening on Wednesday as they smashed seven unanswered goals past Spartak Moscow at Anfield to secure top spot in Group E.

However, the victory was overshadowed by an injury to Moreno, who was forced off shortly before half-time after turning his ankle.

The injury has placed the Spanish full back out of the Merseyside Derby and have given the Reds medical staff fears that Moreno may miss the busy Christmas schedule if scans reveal tendon damage to his ankle.
Moreno, 25, was seen in tears when leaving the pitch on Wednesday and was recently praised by manager Jurgen Klopp over his improved performances this season.
In Moreno’s absence, Jurgen Klopp will have Andy Robertson and James Milner as potential left-back options.
