Alisson vows to make his transfer fee look a ‘bargain’

Liverpool’s most expensive summer signing Alisson is desperate to make the fee the Reds paid Roma for him look like a bargain, the Mirror report.

The former Roma stopper had a brief tenure as the world’s most expensive goalkeeper this summer after joining the Reds for £66 million, before Chelsea brought in Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga for £71 million days before the end of the window.

Despite not owning the world’s most expensive goalkeeper tag anymore, the Brazilian is desperate to make his transfer fee look like a bargain, just as former Roma team-mate Mohamed Salah did during his first season at Anfield.

The Egyptian joined Liverpool from the Italian giants last summer for a fee worth £37 million and instantly became a fans favourite, scoring 44 times in his debut season.

Yes, it was a big deal for Roma, they had a record fee and they were happy.

And I’ll work very hard to make sure it’s a good deal for Liverpool too, which is more important. I know that Salah was (thought) a good deal for Roma, but now people say it is a good deal for Liverpool.

I want to work hard to ensure that yes, people say they paid a (bargain) price for me too, eventually.

Alisson could well make his first competitive appearance for the Reds in their season opener with West Ham on Sunday afternoon, in front of fellow keepers Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.
