Anderlecht agree deal to sign Lazar Markovic

Liverpool have agreed to sell Lazar Markovic to RSC Anderlecht in a deal worth £2.9 million, according to a report from the ECHO.

The Reds have been looking to offload the winger throughout the summer transfer window and appear to have finalised the player’s exit, with Anderlecht set to complete the permanent signing of Markovic.

It’s claimed that Markovic travelled over to Belgium on Friday to stage contractual negotiations with Anderlecht as he looks to complete a move to the Pro League giants.

PAOK provided Anderlecht with stiff competition in the late race for Markovic’s signature but the Belgian outfit were able to clinch a deal, according to the ECHO, with Liverpool also including a 50% future sell-on clause in the deal.

Markovic has been perennially loaned out by the Reds following his move from Benfica some years ago, with Anderlecht having signed him temporarily last January.

The Serbian wide man failed to wholly convince at Anderlecht but it seems they have seen enough to take the plunge and recruit the player permanently, subject to the agreement of personal terms.
