Bayern Munich veteran Arjen Robben has revealed that Anfield is his “worst stadium”, the Liverpool Echo report.
The 35-year-old has suffered two Champions League semi-final defeats against Liverpool during his time with Chelsea.
The experienced winger was part of the Blues squad that lost to Luis Garcia’s famous goal in 2005, with Robben then missing a penalty in the shoot-out two years later.
Robben is expected to miss the game on Tuesday with a thigh problem, however, that hasn’t stopped the Dutchman dreading his next visit to Anfield.
I think, if you ask (about) the worst stadium for me, it’s probably Liverpool.
You always have your favourite opponent and there always has to be a negative one.
The wideman also went on to add that he believes the current Liverpool squad is better suited to the two he faced while at Stamford Bridge.
At that time (Liverpool) were really capable of being this cup fighter team, also in the FA Cup or (League) Cup.
In one or two games they could really live up to it and perform; just not the whole season, which was maybe too much. That was their biggest quality: they were there at the moment they needed to be there.
Now I think it changed and they developed really well. The manager has done a great job.
Last year they were in the Champions League final and at the moment they are top (of the Premier League). It’s a long, long time ago that they won the league and that’s the one they’re dreaming of.
Bayern Munich will be without Thomas Muller in both legs against Liverpool after his red card against Ajax, however, the German giants have declared French winger Kingsley Coman fit for the first leg on Tuesday night.
