James Rodriguez has urged his Bayern Munich side to be wary of Liverpool’s quality going forward ahead of the two sides’ Champions League round of 16 second-leg fixture on Wednesday.
The Colombian will be keen to help his team advance to the quarter-finals of the competition, with the tie finely poised at 0-0 on aggregate after the stalemate at Anfield last month.
In an interview with Bayern’s official club website, the playmaker discussed what will be required of his side when they lock horns with Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Rodriguez alluded to the attacking talent that the Reds possess, and stated that the Bundesliga giants would need to play the “perfect” game if they are to book their place in the final eight of the Champions League.

He said:
We have to play a perfect game at home to go through. Liverpool have very fast players, they feel comfortable when you give them space. That’s why we have to be very focused, highly motivated and play a good game.
I think we have to be very careful. Their counters are very fast. But I think we have every chance of making it into the next round. [The Liverpool forwards] are all players with great quality, you can’t focus on just one.
They’re all very good and that’s why we have to work together as a group to eliminate them and get through.
Rodriguez will be determined to help Bayern finish the season successfully as he nears the conclusion of his two-year loan switch from Real Madrid.
