Benfica forward Raul Jimenez has insisted he is open to a move to England, after reported interest from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, and has refused to ‘close the doors’ on his future, according to reports from the Independent.
Liverpool and Slaven Bilic’s West Ham have been rumoured as potential buyers for the Mexican striker, who has been away with his national side at the Confederations Cup, with the two clubs keen to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Media in Portugal have linked the striker to the Premier League, stating that the 26-year-old is expected to receive a substantial “financial offer” from an unknown English club during the current window.
Jimenez signed for Benfica in a club record fee worth €21.8 million in 2015, and when asked about a possible switch to England, Jimenez said: “The Premier League is a great league, but you have to wait. I don’t close any doors and we’ll see what happens.”
