Liverpool have been handed a timely boost for their Premier League clash with Chelsea as defender Andreas Christensen is highly likely to miss out for the London club due to illness.
As reported on the Daily Star, Christensen started against the Reds in the Carabao Cup in midweek but was forced off in the second half with what now appears to be a sickness.
Christensen wasn’t at his best at Anfield during the 2-1 victory for his side and was uncharacteristically sloppy with the ball at his feet.
David Luiz came on in place of the Denmark international, who was reportedly throwing up inside the Anfield dressing room.
Christensen has found it difficult to break into the starting line up for Chelsea under Maurizio Sarri, who prefers Antonio Rudiger and Luiz at the back.
Liverpool will be hoping for revenge at Stamford Bridge in the league tomorrow as Jurgen Klopp’s men look to preserve their 100% winning start to the league campaign.
