Liverpool have already lost three key players this summer as Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate moved on after the 2025-26 campaign.
Each of them was integral to the team and well respected within the squad, so the Reds are still reeling from their departures.
To make matters worse, Alexis Mac Allister has been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Manchester City.
The Argentine midfielder has just two years left on his current deal and is yet to sign an extension.
And now, reports from Turkey confirm that Galatasaray are preparing an ambitious move to sign the 27-year-old.
Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister linked with Galatasaray
Turkish newspaper Yeni Asir report that Galatasaray are ‘closely monitoring’ Mac Allister’s situation and have begun investigating the terms of his transfer.
Earlier this summer, Read Liverpool relayed claims from Spain that Mac Allister is valued at €70m in the case of a potential departure this summer.
An excerpt from the aforementioned report reads: “While it is stated that Galatasaray management wants to strengthen the squad to align with their European ambitions and avoid letting go of the championship-winning team, the acquisition of Mac Allister is expected to be one of the most talked-about developments of the transfer window.
“However, the biggest question mark surrounding the transfer is the player’s ongoing contract with Liverpool and whether the English club will be willing to let him go.”
Gala’s interest is clear, but we can’t see Liverpool selling the Argentine this summer, especially with Curtis Jones looking like he could leave before the transfer window slams shut.
His contract situation, however, is an issue that needs sorting before the turn of the year as the Reds simply can’t afford to lose a player of his ability for free in two years.
