€70m-rated Liverpool transfer target has demanded to leave after refusing to play

Liverpool could complete multiple attacking signings between now and the end of the summer transfer window.

The Reds have been reliably linked with Yankuba Minteh, Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, although they face a race against time to get deals over the line.

Earlier this summer, Liverpool were credited with an interest in Matias Fernandez-Pardo, who has also attracted interest from a host of other clubs across the continent.

And now, the Belgian attacker has taken drastic measures to force a transfer amid interest from Atletico Madrid.

Liverpool’s interest is well documented as he is an attacker who can play across the frontline, but it is Atletico Madrid who have made an offer to sign him.

However, Sebastien Denis of Foot Mercato reports that the Belgian international has refused to play Lille’s upcoming Ligue 1 clash against Angers.

His entourage, meanwhile, have demanded a meeting with the club’s hierarchy, where they will ask to leave the club once again.

Denis wrote on X: “After Matias Fernandez-Pardo refused to play the last match, his entourage demanded a meeting with management to demand a departure.

“Despite the player’s attitude and an offer of over 40 M€ from Atlético de Madrid, LOSC’s response remains the same: no clearance will be granted to him this summer unless it’s a truly crazy offer.”

Liverpool are yet to make an offer, but if deals for Barcola, Minteh and Mbaye hit a snag, don’t be surprised to see them pivot to Fernandez-Pardo as an alternative as multiple sources have confirmed the Reds’ interest in him.
