Egyptian FA member refutes claims that Salah will retire internationally

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah will not retire from his international duties with Egypt, the country’s FA board member Essam Abdel Fattah has insisted.

Speaking exclusively to Goal, Abdel Fattah delivered an update on Salah’s future at international level and dispelled reports indicating that the Reds attacker was considering retirement.

It was reported that Salah had raised concerns with regards to how his image was being manipulated by the Egyptian FA after he was pictured at an event with Chechnya leader Ramzan Kadyrov, who has for some time been accused of a variety of violations regarding human rights.

These reports have since been refuted by board member Abdel Fattah, though, who insisted that the indications regarding Salah’s future are lies.

This is a big lie. Nothing like this is true and I wonder how CNN are reporting these things. I’m sick of all these rumours around our team. Today it was also said that an EFA member’s son was selling a ticket illegally. These are silly things and still lies.

Egypt were eliminated earlier this week after succumbing to their second defeat of the World Cup in the group stages. Salah scored a penalty but it proved to be only a consolation, as Egypt were knocked out after a 3-1 defeat to Russia.
