Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has delivered an update on how his negotiations with Rangers over the vacant managerial post are progressing.
The Scottish side confirmed on Tuesday that manager Graeme Murty had been relieved of his duties and it seems Gerrard is the club’s first choice to replace him at the helm.
Rangers have endured a difficult recent period and have sacked Murty off the back of a 5-0 defeat to Celtic in the Glasgow Derby. This win secured the Scottish Premiership title for Brendan Rodgers’ men.

Gerrard, speaking for BT Sport prior to the Champions League semi-final second leg between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, claimed that the talks between him and Rangers’ top brass have been “positive”.
Twitter: “We’ll see.”
“I’ve held positive talks with them.”

The former England international is currently Liverpool’s Under-18 head coach and has been doing a good job with the young guns at the club.
However, an opportunity to test himself as a manager has arisen for only the second time since his retirement after he turned down MK Dons’ offer last season, and it seems Gerrard is keen to take it.
