Marko Grujic must play 14 games at Cardiff or they will face a penalty

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock stated new loan signing Marko Grujic must play at least 14 games this season, otherwise the Welsh side will face financial punishment from parent club Liverpool, BBC report.

Grujic, 21, joined the Reds two years ago for a fee worth just over £5 million, however, the Serbian international has found regular first team football at Anfield hard to come by for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Warnock, who’s Cardiff side currently sit 3rd in the league, two points behind Derby County, admitted he is excited by the signing, and stated the player has to feature in at least 14 games for the Bluebirds, otherwise they will be penalised by Liverpool.

We won’t get punished if he gets injured and things like that. We’ve got 19 league games, and hopefully he’ll play in all of them. Jurgen really likes the lad and he wants him to continue his education. And he just wants to come and play.

Grujic will be hoping to make his debut this Saturday as Cardiff travel to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday.
