Harry Wilson set to join Derby County on loan

Young Liverpool winger Harry Wilson looks set to temporarily leave Merseyside as a one-year loan deal to Derby County is imminent.

An array of Championship clubs have been lining up to secure the young prospect’s signature. However, Jurgen Klopp is aware of the talent Wilson possesses and is refusing to sell.

Instead, a one-year loan deal to help with Wilson’s development seems far more likely.

The Welsh international, who earlier this week signed a long-term contract with Liverpool, is close to finalising a deal to join Derby County, who have a fresh feel to them after the appointment of Frank Lampard as manager.

Swansea, Norwich and Brentford have all approached Liverpool in the last week but most noticeably, it was Stoke City who claimed to have wanted his services during negotiations for new signing Xherdan Shaqiri. However, Derby seem to have won the race for his signature.
