Harvey Elliott hailed as “best 17-year-old I’ve ever seen” by teammate

Harvey Elliott has been hailed as “the best 17-year-old I’ve ever seen” by an unnamed Blackburn teammate, as reported by Football Insider.

The teenager was loaned out to the Championship club back in October, allowing him to pick up regular minutes in a physical league.

Elliott has been a revelation for Blackburn so far, scoring four goals and registering eight assists in the Championship – only Reading’s Michael Olise has as many of the latter.

The forward is clearly catching the eye of his Blackburn colleagues, with the aforementioned quote by his teammate summing up his potential and the person in question also tipping him to have an “unreal career”.

It is easy to get over excited about a young Liverpool player – Ben Woodburn, anyone? – before they eventually fall away and don’t match the hype.

Elliott really does look a special footballer, however, and to be having such an influence for Blackburn at just 17, in a difficult division, speaks volumes.

Blessed with wonderful natural talent, including a wand of a left foot, he could even be viewed as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah on the right-hand side for Liverpool, even though he lacks the Egyptian’s blistering pace.

If not, a No.10 role could also see him thrive, given his ability to beat players with his dribbling and also pick a pass.
