‘Here we go’ – Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool agree shock move for striker

It’s been a frantic few weeks for Liverpool as they aim to reinforce their squad before the summer transfer window slams shut.

A deal to sign Bradley Barcola should be announced today, with the Frenchman expected to become the Reds’ second-most expensive player in their history.

Earlier today, various sources confirmed that Lucca Brughmans will join Liverpool in a deal worth €35m although he is expected to remain at Genk for the forthcoming season.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Reds have agreed another such deal for the future to sign Saint-Etienne striker Djylian N’Guessan.

Liverpool agree deal for Djylian N’Guessan

There has been no mention of a fee, but the young striker has been authorised to do his medical ahead of agreeing a transfer.

Romano wrote on X: “Liverpool agree deal to sign Djylian N’Guessan from Saint Etienne, here we go!

“18-year-old French striker joins in summer 2027, done also player side as #LFC got the authorization for medical.

“Follows Lucca Brughmans deal as another one for the future.”

Liverpool are keeping an eye on the future, but it goes without saying that they need to reinforce their current squad to compete across all fronts during the 2026-27 campaign.

And with time running out, the possibility of further signings walking through the door at Anfield after Bradley Barcola is starting to look bleak.
