Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has hinted that the Italian champions could end their interest in Liverpool’s Emre Can.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Marotta explained to Mediaset Premium that the club will be happy to move on to alternative transfer targets if they’re unable to complete a deal.
We’re ready to take any opportunities, I won’t deny we are concentrated on Emre Can and awaiting his response. That is our primary objective.
Juventus have been well known to be admirers of Can, who is coming into the final months of his contract at Anfield.
Massimo Allegri’s men have been heavily linked with a move for the German, while there is also thought to be interest from Spain in the form of Real Madrid.
Can could still sign a new deal at the club, but he is yet to agree on terms, with talks appearing to hit a standstill.
While it would come as a huge blow for the club to lose a player of Can’s quality, the Reds have a deal in place for Naby Keita to join in the summer.
