Klopp goes through Liverpool problems in-depth with squad

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp held a squad meeting at the Melwood training complex following the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley and has demanded answers from their squad after their recent poor performances, according to a report on the Mirror.

The German was livid after the performance against potential top four rivals Tottenham and went through the performance in detail with the players.

Klopp showed video footage of all the Spurs goals and pointed out all the mistakes withhold holding back and it is understood that individual players also held up their hands to their mistakes in what resulted in a very open discussion.

The manager gave his players Tuesday off following Monday’s lengthy meeting and afforded them an opportunity to gather their thoughts and return to action with fresh minds.

Klopp was more disappointed with how Liverpool defended as a team rather than on individuals, with majority of the fans putting the blame on centre-back Dejan Lovren.

Liverpool’s next fixture is up against Huddersfield Town, who come into the game on the back of a historic victory over Manchester United.

The newly-promoted side are solid at the back and will prove to be a stern test for Liverpool, but Klopp is hoping that the meeting with his players will motivate them to put things right as they sit in ninth place in the table.
