Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp did not react too kindly to having his midfield selection questioned ahead of this weekend’s Merseyside Derby.
As quoted by the Liverpool Echo, Klopp hit back at his critics following the midweek defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
We conceded five [league] goals and you say our midfield is overrun? I don’t see that. No, I don’t see any problems in midfield.
Following the concerns over Liverpool’s options in the middle of the park, Klopp was quizzed about if the players who feature on Sunday will be ready for what will be an highly-anticipated clash.
It is fair to say that Klopp did not take too kindly to some of the questions being put forward.
Are they ready? We will see, we have to prove it. If I said: we have a real problem, I don’t have enough time to make them ready for a derby, what kind of idiot would I be?
Jordan is not available. What should I do? Ask the FA? I really do not understand a lot of your questions today. Yes, my players are ready but they have to prove it on Sunday.

A number of pundits and journalists have questioned Klopp’s decision to start with a midfield three of James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Gin Wijnaldum on Wednesday night.
Despite Klopp’s defence of his team, the decision was one that backfired for the Reds, with the Ligue 1 champions getting the better of Liverpool for large spells of the game.
