Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool did not miss Virgil van Dijk much against Bayern Munich because of the brilliance of Fabinho, as reported on Sky Sports.
However, the Reds’ manager was quick to make it clear that he is delighted to have the towering Netherlands international defender back for the Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday.
Van Dijk was suspended for the 0-0 draw in the first leg of the last 16 UEFA Champions League match with Bayern Munich at Anfield.

Fabinho was forced to play at centre-back due to injuries to Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez and the Brazilian put in a very impressive performance.
When asked how important it is to have the Dutchman back, Klopp said:
Very. Like he always is. But the most important thing is that we didn’t miss him as much as a lot of people expected us to because we defend as a unit.
Of course, it is really good to have him back. It is the first time in weeks that we have to make a choice between midfielders, full-backs and even centre-backs if you think about Fabinho. Because Fabinho can play at centre-back it helps us a lot but he is a midfielder and we will use him most of the time in that position.
A win for the Reds against United will see them move three points clear at the top of the Premier League.
