Liverpool have reportedly made contact with Sevilla to discuss a January move to sign Alberto Moreno.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, Moreno is ‘dreaming’ of a return to La Liga and the Reds are looking to help facilitate a move away from Anfield.
In a bizarre turn of events, it has been Liverpool who appear to have initiated contact with the Spanish side.
The Reds will be keen to offload the player and that is perhaps the reasoning behind their approach.
Moreno is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the summer and will not be offered a new deal by the club.
Liverpool may look to conclude a deal quickly in January to avoid losing him for nothing in the summer.
The player has fallen out of favour at Anfield thanks to the form of Andy Robertson, who has cemented his place as the starting left-back in Jurgen Klopp’s side.
