Liverpool are interested in signing highly-rated Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali, according to Italian football expert David Amoyal.
The Reds have been constantly linked with the 18-year-old in recent weeks, with a view to a summer move mooted and some reports even claiming talks were underway.
Dubbed the ‘new Pirlo’ because of his likeness in look and style to legendary midfielder Andrea Pirlo, Tonali is seen a hugely exciting prospect.
Jurgen Klopp is continually looking to improve his Liverpool squad and someone who believes Tonali is a primary target is Amoyal.
When asked about the Reds’ approach for the Brescia star, he said the interest is genuine:

There’s many clubs interested in Tonali. There’s multiple clubs in the Premier League, Liverpool’s definitely one of them.
Brescia’s president Cellino is asking for a huge return for him.
As it stands Juventus and Inter are still the favourites, but definitely Liverpool are in the mix.
How concrete their interest, and how close they are now remains to be seen. I don’t get the vibe it’s that close either way.
Liverpool don’t look likely to sign anyone this month, with Thursday’s deadline fast approaching.
Summer transfer plans are sure to be in place, however, and it will be interesting to see how things develop with Tonali.
The Reds’ attention is currently on Wednesday’s visit of Leicester City in the Premier League.
