Liverpool still have a bit of work to do in the transfer market before the window slams shut on September 1st.
A deal to bring Bradley Barcola to Anfield is close to being finalised, with the Frenchman set to arrive at Merseyside tomorrow for his medical.
However, Liverpool remain on the lookout for other players and could pounce if market opportunities arise.
Andoni Iraola has confirmed after their 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest that a lot is happening behind the scenes.
Andoni Iraola confirms Liverpool’s transfer plans
“We are talking now about, we don’t know what the squad is on 2nd September,” said the Spaniard in his post-match press conference.
“I think every analysis I can make is: when everything finishes, I know who is going to be here… now we’ve waited all summer and we have to wait 2-3 more days, and then analyse what we have when the market closes.”
“We have been patient all summer; now we have to wait a couple more days and see how we finish and how the squad looks on the 2nd September.
“Honestly, I’m looking forward to having who we have and the definitive squad; we can start working with this.
“It’s a matter of getting a proper squad and the club is working on it. I hope we can finish the market properly.”
This certainly looks like the Reds are on the lookout for 1-2 more players after Barcola, as the deal to bring the Frenchman to Anfield has already been completed.
Exciting days, to say the least.
