Liverpool given permission to speak to Digne

News has emerged this evening that Lucas Digne has been given the chance to speak to Liverpool’s representatives in order to thrash out a deal that would bring the defender to Merseyside.

Get French Football Now claim that the French defender is no-longer required by PSG, who have come to the decision to allow the him to leave.

There has been talk of a £10.5million fee for Digne, yet in these new reports no figure has been mentioned, yet the French champions willingness to allow conversation between the player and the buying club hints that a fee would not be too hard to negotiate, should it come to that.

Digne, 22, is known to be disappointed at the way this summer has panned out, with it being understood that the player himself thought he had done enough to warrant a starting berth ahead of the regular left-back, Maxwell.

A decision is due to be made by the player at the beginning of August and the only stumbling block at present seems to be whether he is willing to trade Paris for Liverpool.

With Euro 2016 just around the corner in his home country of France, Digne is known to want to secure a place in the squad, and may reluctantly see his chances improve playing regular first team football at Liverpool.
