Liverpool miss out as Pulisic joins Chelsea

Liverpool have missed out on the chance to sign long-term transfer target Christian Pulisic, with the winger completing a move to Chelsea.

Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund confirmed that the player will be heading to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Chelsea agreed a January deal and have loaned the player back to the Bundesliga outfit for the remainder of the season.

Maurizio Sarri’s side are believed to have spent around £58 million to secure the winger’s services ahead of next season.

With Dortmund pushing for the Bundesliga title this season, they were keen to keep hold of the player, despite the American falling out of favour at the club.

Liverpool have been long-term admirers of Pulisic, with Jurgen Klopp in particular, a fan of the player from his time working at Dortmund.

Chelsea are beginning to plan for life without Eden Hazard, with the Belgian looking increasingly likely to leave the club in the summer.
