Liverpool official watches Porto’s Champions League clash

Liverpool reportedly had club officials watching Porto’s Champions League meeting with Galatasaray this week.

Sport Witness relay that Liverpool officials were present to see Moussa Marega score the only goal of the game on Wednesday night.

However, at this stage, it is unclear who they were keeping an eye on.

Sport Witness hint that Alex Telles could be the ‘obvious’ link, after being touted as a potential transfer target for the Reds during the summer transfer window.

The Brazilian defender was heavily linked with a move to Anfield, but Liverpool were said to be unwilling to meet his asking price.

Meanwhile, the report also cites Hector Herrera’s uncertain future at the club.

He is out of contract at the end of the season and the Reds could be looking into the possibility of a free transfer later down the line.

At this stage, it is unclear if the Reds had a particular focus on either player or if the game was merely a routine scouting mission.
