Liverpool open talks with Gremio over Luan transfer

Liverpool have opened talks with Gremio over the possible transfer of Luan, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

Castles’ report says that the 24-year-old has a release clause of €18million in his contract with Gremio and that Liverpool are in talks to meet that fee.

Having seen Philippe Coutinho sold for a fee of £142m, Liverpool fans have been desperate to see the club move for a replacement.

Castles’ report indicates that Liverpool are hesitant to pay the €100m asking price for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, whilst Borussia Dortmund have no intention of selling Christian Pulisic.

Luan was touted with a move to Liverpool last year but nothing ever materialised, but that could soon be about to change.

The Brazilian international was recently voted as the South American Player of the Year and was named player of the tournament as Gremio won the 2017 Copa Libertadores.

His arrival would add more firepower to an already potent Liverpool attack, and would go some way to replacing his international teammate Coutinho.
