Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is considering a move for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano as the Reds’ boss looks to strengthen his leaky defence, according to a report on the Mirror.
The young French defender is highly rated and only joined Leipzig in January from Red Bull Salzburg.
Leipzig are keen to tie the defender down to a new long-term contract and the 18-year-old has an offer on the table from the Bundesliga club which would see his release clause rise to an incredible €100m.
The young defender has represented the France under-19 side and has been highly rated by those who play with him and those who coach him.

Liverpool manager Klopp has been criticised heavily this season for failing to address his side’s clear weak point; the defence.
The Reds were strongly linked with Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk but failed to sign him and are reportedly now keen to land Upamecano, although he’ll likely be one for the future if he does arrive.
The Merseyside club have already done business with RB Leipzig as they agreed a deal to sign Naby Keita next summer.
The Reds are keen to test Leipzig’s resolve over the young defender and could be involved in another long and hard battle with the German top-flight club over securing his signature.
