Several members of Liverpool’s first-team squad have participated in what has been a quite thrilling World Cup in Russia this summer.
A number of players have played a part in their respective countries’ international campaigns and, in fact, this has been of financial benefit to the Reds, as represented in recent financial figures disclosed by communications specialists Tonka.
The reports have revealed which clubs have earned the most from FIFA’s compensation payouts, determined by the number of players who have been released for international involvement this summer.

Tonka’s findings show that Liverpool earned the 12th highest amount from the compensation payouts, with the club taking approximately £2 million from their players’ exploits at the World Cup.
Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson, Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Simon Mignolet and Marko Grujic were all present for their respective countries but will soon return to the Reds as they prepare for the 2018/19 campaign.
Meanwhile, Dejan Lovren could return as a national hero. His Croatia side defeated England on Wednesday in the semi-final to reach the final stage of the competition, where they will play France in Moscow.
