Liverpool are ready to rival the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea as they pursue Ajax star Donny van de Beek, according to Voetbal International.
The 21-year-old is one of several young Ajax players to have progressed through the ranks in recent times, nailing down a regular place in the club’s first-team plans.
Van de Beek, who regularly operates in the centre of midfield, appears to have piqued the interest of several clubs across Europe, with Liverpool among the potential suitors listed in VI’s report.

The Reds are believed to have expressed an interest in signing the promising youngster, whose future in Amsterdam is under scrutiny following a sporadic role for Ajax this season.
Dutch giants Ajax are under no immediate pressure to part ways with Van de Beek, however. The midfielder is currently tied to a contract at the club which lasts until the summer of 2022.
Liverpool are not short of central midfield options but it seems they are preparing for the future, with Van de Beek among the players under consideration.
