Liverpool are showing late interest in signing Braga defender David Carmo, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
The 21-year-old is believed to be a ‘serious option’ for the Reds to bring in at centre-back on deadline day, as Jurgen Klopp looks to make much-needed defensive reinforcements.
Carmo is a contender to head to Anfield, as well as Schalke’s Ozan Kabak and and Marseille’s Duje Caleta-Car.
The Portuguese has made eight starts in the Primeira Liga this season, with his current deal at Braga running until 2025.

Carmo is a name who has been mentioned in the past, but this has come from nowhere at Liverpool eye up a last-minute addition.
In truth, both Kabak and Caleta-Car look more likely options to come in, but the youngster fits the profile required, in terms of his towering presence.
He has won an average of 2.8 aerial duels per match in both the league and Europa League in 2020/21, highlighting a player who is strong in the air.
