Liverpool star convinced Alisson of move to Anfield

Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino has played a key role in the potential signing of Roma goalkeeper Alisson, according to reports from Calciomercato, who cite claims from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

According to reports, Liverpool have agreed a transfer fee of £66 million with the Italian giants and the Merseyside outfit are now permitted to enter to enter contract negotiations with Alisson and his agent.

But it seems that Liverpool’s Firmino has played a big role in the signing of his fellow Brazilian team-mate. The two stars have spent the last three weeks together as part of Brazil’s 23-man squad at this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Alisson was a regular for Brazil, featuring in all five of Brazil’s World Cup fixtures and the 25-year-old kept three clean sheets in Russia as he continued to establish himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Liverpool are in desperate need of a new goalkeeper after three mistakes from German-born Loris Karius in the last three months, including two crucial mistakes in the UEFA Champions League final.

Alisson’s agent is set to meet with officials from both Roma and Liverpool over the coming days and a transfer to Anfield for the 25-year-old is expected to be completed by the end of the week as Liverpool look to complete another summer signing.
