Jurgen Klopp has reignited an interest in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as he looks set to make a move for the English international if he decides he wants a move.
As reported by Melissa Reddy of Goal during a Facebook Q&A, Liverpool would like to sign the player but as he is currently under contract at Arsenal, he’d probably have to make the push to get the move.
Chamberlain, 23, ended up playing as a wing back towards the end of the season and impressed in many performances. Klopp is hoping that the offer for Chamberlain will be enough to persuade him to make the switch to Anfield and prevent him from signing a new contract at the Emirates.
The Gunners have held initial talks with the Englishman’s representatives about a new deal and were hoping that it would’ve already been completed to tie the player down and they are willing to increase his wages in order to get him to stay.
Klopp has reportedly been interested in Chamberlain for some time and there were rumours that he was heading to Anfield this summer, but it looks like Klopp is making one last attempt to take him to Merseyside.
