Liverpool target Matthijs de Ligt has reportedly rejected a move to Manchester United, who were planning on offering the Dutch teenager a five-year deal at Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old has been a standout performer for Ajax in domestic and European competitions this season, which has resulted in numerous clubs around Europe interested in the centre-back.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is thought to be an admirer of de Ligt, along with United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Barcelona are also keen on the player and remain favourites for de Ligt’s signature in the summer.
However, according to the Daily Star, cited by Sports Mole, de Ligt won’t be moving to Manchester after rejecting the chance to move to Old Trafford on a five-year deal.
The defender has just over two years left on his current Ajax contract, so Barcelona or Liverpool will have to spend big if they are to secure de Ligt’s services next season.
