Liverpool, along with Premier League rivals Manchester City, are keeping a close eye on Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze, according to the Daily Mail, cited by FootballLive.ng.
The 19-year-old has made significant progress in La Liga this season and has scored five times for Villareal in Spain’s top division this season.
Chukwueze has been compared to Bayern Munich’s Arjen Robben in terms of style of play and has been linked with numerous clubs around Europe in recent months.
Atletico Madrid and Arsenal have both been rumoured with a move for the player, with Chukwueze’s release clause set at £54m.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to bolster his squad this summer, so Chukwueze, known as Samu, could certainly provide competition in an attacking sense.
The talented teenager is under contract with Villareal until 2023, so Manchester City or Liverpool will have to more than likely meet the Nigerian’s release clause to stand any chance in securing the wide man’s services this summer.
